Youth Motivation Camp
ITANAGAR May 09: Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti (VKAJ) conducted an Youth Motivation Camp for the youth age between 18 to 30 years at VKV Chimpu from May 1 to 6.
The camp aimed at giving the future leaders a positive direction and inculcating patriotism cultural value and discipline in them through yoga lecture concentration and memory development games group discussion and career guidance programmes conducted by resources persons.
The camp was inaugurated by Kalyan Dutta, Nagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti Itanagar.
The resource persons included, M Mossang, Rinchen Dorjee, Dr. Techi Upen, Tara S Sumnyan Ashok Atale.

BWS reiterates demand to arrest culprit
ITANAGAR, May 09: Bengia Welfare Society today reiterated its demand for immediate arrest of the prime accused of the Koloriang PR poll related incident which led to dead of one Bengia Tamang on April 25 last.
In a representation submitted to the chief secretary and director general of police, the society claimed that main accused is still absconding since the incident happened. The society also alleged that few senior Congress leaders are giving shelter to the culprit as an active party worker. Further it reiterated its demand to the state election commission for enquiry of double ticket issue. It also stated that concerned officer DEO and RO should be put under suspension till the enquiry is completed.

Tuglo’s death mourned
ITANAGAR, May 09: The officers and staff of the DDSE office, Ziro Lower Subansiri district have deeply mourned the death of Tarh Tuglo, deputy director of school education, Ziro, who died on Tuesday. The staff conveyed deep sense of condolence to bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of departed soul.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Teacher Association (ATA), Apatani Students Union, All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teacher Association, Lower Subansiri District Unit, Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA), Lower Subansiri district Unit, Arunachal Law Students Union (ALSU) and All Arunachal Pradesh Youth Organization also mourned the death of DDSE.
Tuglo was a sincere officer and he was loved by all for his friendly nature, ALSU said in its condolence message.

Sector magistrates urged to maintain law and order
TEZU May 09: Lohit Deputy Commissioner R K Sharma has requested the Sector Magistrates and Sector Police officers to strictly maintain law and order for peaceful conduct of the ensuing panchayat election in the district.
Addressing the sector magistrates and sectors police in a meeting cum training here today, the DC advised them to be pro active and visit their respective area of responsibility beforehand to complete the task on poll day satisfactorily. The DC briefed the procedural law to the magistrates and sector police officers for maintenance of law and order, peace and tranquility on the day of election and till its process is over.
Superintendent of Police Seju P. Kuruvilla, Deputy SP, Circle Officer of Sunpura, 7 Sector Magistrates, 7 Sector Police officers and OC of Tezu Police Station attended the meeting, according to an official release.

Sensitization and advocacy meeting on HIV
ITANAGAR May 09: Arunachal Pradesh State AIDS Control Society (APSACS) organized a one day sensitization and advocacy meeting on HIV main streaming and workplace policy on HIV for the officers and officials of Department of Labour and Employment and the Hydro Power Monitoring at Naharlagun today.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner of Labour and Employment Department Ojing Darung stressed on the importance of HIV main streaming in various departments under state government for effective control and management of HIV epidemic. The officers and staff of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today deeply mourned the death of Tayeng.

APIC directive not favours appellant: fresh appeal submitted

PASIGHAT May 09: The Arunachal Pradesh Information Commission (APIC) which was facing massive public criticism for keeping a lot of appeal cases on abeyance is now allegedly failed to deliver justice to the appellants concerned.
Allegation has claimed that the APIC is failing to deliver justice to the appellants concerned, who are raising question over independent functioning of the commission in order to make the Public Authorities compel to furnish information under the provisions of Right to Information RTI Act 2005.
The sufferers alleged that the public authorities taking advantage of leniency of Chief Information Commissioner of APIC is accustomed to deny any official information. The PIOs in the department are quite reluctant to furnish any information under the provisions of RTI Act as they are not afraid of the penalty for any violation, they alleged.

It is worth mentioning that the petitioner earlier sought information from the DDSE about enrollment of students’ financial grants of a Govt Higher Secondary School at Pasighat. But the DDSE denied it and said him that the information was not pertaining to his office. The petitioner later proceeded on appeal before the competent authorities for justice.
The APIC order further stated that the documents pertaining to the information sought by the petitioner was voluminous containing a period of 10 years which is not possible for the school authority to create duplicate copy for furnishing.

But I would like to draw the attention towards alarming increase in accident case in the district. No doubt, accident mostly happens due to rash and drunk driving but it also take place due to the presence of cattle’s loitering around the roads and highways. Many a times these stray animal cause serious accidents leading to even loss of lives. So, I would like to request East Siang District administration to take some step to prevent the cattle from roaming around in highways and in township areas.

Wrongly deleted voter
Dear Editor,
It is shocking to find that there has been mass deletion of the bonafide voters from
the electoral Roll of 13/9 Yogong Anchal Samity without any reason. On the contrary,
there is mass illegal or double entry of same persons in different segment in the
electoral list which clearly reveals vested interest of some persons. These deprived
voters had no ground for disqualification or deletion as they are neither the new
entries nor migrated or enrolled in any other constituencies. They have been already
exercising their voting rights in the previous Panchayat, parliamentary and Legislative
Assembly elections. As such even there is no question of putting them up for claim
and objection process. More over the latest electoral roll was not made available
to the voters until the evening of 19th April, 2013. This act is purely done with

Therefore, we earnestly appeal to the authorities concerned to look in to the matter at the earliest to give back the franchise right of the voters to exercise their rights on the polling day of the Panchayat election and also to find out the person responsible for illegal mass deletion and illegal double entries for smooth conduct of the election.
